(RALEIGH, June 20, 2006) – Russell B. Killen, a partner with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP in Raleigh, was appointed to the advisory committee on school construction by the Wake County Board of Commissioners and the Wake County Board of Education.
Mr. Killen, one of 12 members of the newly created facilities advisory committee, represents clients in the area of construction law as well as in zoning and land use matters. He was named to North Carolina magazine’s 2006 “Legal Elite” in construction law and received the 2006 Triangle Business Journal’s 40 under 40 Leadership Awards.

Mr. Killen is a member of the Knightdale Town Council and the Executive Committee of the Wake Education Partnership, where he serves as legal counsel. He also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Eastern North Carolina Chapter and the Board of Directors for the Knightdale Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Killen received a J.D. from Duke University in 1994 and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1991.
