(Cary, North Carolina) – Lawyers Mutual is pleased to welcome two new employees and two new board members to our company. Jamie Onna has joined our Underwriting Department, Troy Crawford has joined as a Claims Attorney, and joining the Board of Directors are John M. May and William G. (Bill) Pappas.
Jamie Onna graduated cum laude from Bernard M. Baruch College and she worked as an underwriter for Chartis Insurance analyzing risk for public and private financial institutions. Prior to Lawyers Mutual, Troy Crawford was in private practice with Crawford, Christopher & Parker, PA and he served as subrogation counsel at Investors Title Insurance Company. He graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University and Campbell University School of Law. In his current position, Troy primarily works with real estate claims.
John M. May practices with Robbins, May & Rich LLP, located in Pinehurst. John practices in the areas of business and real estate transactions, including estate and tax matters. John has been an active member of the North Carolina State Bar, serving as Councilor, Chairman of the CLE Board and as a member of the Disciplinary Hearing Committee. He is also a member of the North Carolina and Moore County Bar Associations. A graduate of Wake Forest University and the Wake Forest School of Law, he also received his L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University. John has served as Director and Chairman of the Moore Regional Hospital, Inc. and he currently serves as Director and Secretary for the Moore County Partners in Progress, as well as Director for FirstHealth of the Carolinas.
Before joining the law firm of Parker Poe, William G. (Bill) Pappas clerked for the Honorable Franklin T. Dupree, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina and for U.S. Magistrate Logan D. Howell. A graduate of the University of North Carolina and the University Of North Carolina School Of Law, Bill’s practice involves a wide range of business law and transactional issues. As an active Member of the North Carolina Bar Association, he served as chairman of the Business Law Section. In addition to being named to North Carolina's Legal Elite, Bill has been listed in Woodard/White’s The Best Lawyers in America in Corporate Law as well as North Carolina Super Lawyers in Business/ Corporate, International and Intellectual Property Law. He also serves on the Board of Visitors for the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center.
