(RALEIGH, N.C.)—Bruce Thompson, a Partner in the Raleigh office of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, was named by Campaigns & Elections magazine as one of the top ten political influencers from North Carolina as part of the publication's "Influencers 500" list. The magazine described Mr. Thompson as a “top lobbyist” in North Carolina.
A national panel determined the most influential players in each state. The group selected Mr. Thompson based on his state and federal lobbying practice, his key role in advising the state’s top Democrats such as United States Senator Kay Hagan and his involvement in Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign.
Mr. Thompson concentrates his practice in governmental and regulatory activities including legislative representation and counsel before the United States Congress and the North Carolina General Assembly. Mr. Thompson also focuses on economic development initiatives, having represented some of the nation’s largest companies in incentives negotiations with local and state officials. He serves as the leader of the firm’s Government & Public Policy Practice Group.
During each election cycle, news outlets including Media General, Fox News, UNC-TV, NBC-17, the Raleigh News & Observer, the Winston-Salem Journal and the New York Times routinely call upon Mr. Thompson for commentary. His experience in state and national politics provides him with insight into the electoral process and its impact on public policy. Mr. Thompson also utilizes this experience to advise clients on election law issues in addition to providing counsel on how to navigate the halls of government in Washington, DC and Raleigh, NC.
Mr. Thompson has been named to the list of “Most Influential Lobbyists” by the North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research, was recognized as a “Super Lawyer” for Government Relations and Administrative Law and has been named to Woodward/White's The Best Lawyers in America list since 2008.
He received his JD in 1994 and BA in 1988 from Wake Forest University.
