Charleston, SC – Parker Poe is pleased to announce the addition of three attorneys to the construction practice in South Carolina, expanding the firm’s depth of experience in this area. The Construction Practice Group serves a diverse group of clients in the construction field, including owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, architects, engineers, construction managers and surety/fidelity companies.
Katon E. Dawson, Jr., Associate in our Columbia, SC office, focuses his practice on construction and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Parker Poe, Katon was a law clerk for the Honorable H. Bruce Williams. He was responsible for handling cases from the initial review of appellate briefs and records through the drafting of final opinions. Katon was also an intern for the South Carolina Department of Commerce European Office in Munich, Germany.
Felicia S. Preston, Associate in the Litigation Department, has moved from our Columbia office to join the Charleston construction group. Felicia’s practice is focused on business litigation, property disputes and construction. Ms. Preston previously served as a law clerk for the Honorable J. Michelle Childs, United States District Court Judge for the District of South Carolina.
Taylor H. Stair, Associate in our Charleston, SC office, focuses his practice in the areas of construction litigation, complex commercial litigation, and insurance coverage. He represents owners, developers, homebuilders and contractors with pre-construction, construction and post-construction issues. Taylor has extensive experience with complex construction claims involving multi-family and single-family residential dwellings as well as commercial properties. Additionally, he offers corporate support for construction clients, including contract drafting and review, and provides legal advice related to emerging industry issues.
