Charlotte, N.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is proud to announce that The Mecklenburg Times has named Ashley Edwards to its list of “50 Most Influential Women.” Ashley, a partner in the firm’s Charlotte office, was recognized for her influence in the courtroom and on other young professionals.

The Mecklenburg Times created the 50 Most Influential Women event to spotlight the important role women play in the greater Charlotte region, its economy, and society. The winners are nominated and judged by their peers, with an emphasis on community leadership and influence.

Ashley is one of very few women in Mecklenburg County whose legal practice focuses on bankruptcy. She is often the only female attorney in the bankruptcy courtroom. She is a persistent advocate for women in the legal profession, mentoring young attorneys and working moms as they chart their own path toward a successful career and fulfilling family life.

Ashley cares deeply about using her skills as a lawyer to give back to the community and represent those who might not otherwise have a voice. She has spent hundreds of hours providing pro bono representation to abused and neglected children through North Carolina’s Guardian ad Litem program. She has also led the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee, which plays a critical role in the professional growth of the county’s attorneys.

She and the other winners will be recognized at the 50 Most Influential Women awards event on May 18 in uptown Charlotte. The Mecklenburg Times will also announce the winner of its “Woman of the Year” award that night in partnership with Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Charlotte.

This is the second consecutive year a Parker Poe attorney has been recognized among the Charlotte area’s 50 Most Influential Women. Charlotte partner Shalanna Pirtle received the recognition last year.
