Charleston, SC – Jeff Bodgan recently became a Circuit Court Mediator by the South Carolina Board of Arbitrator and Mediator Certification Board of the South Carolina Bar. Jeff has extensive experience counseling individuals and drafting their estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives. He also is proficient in representing personal representatives and beneficiaries through the probate process. Jeff spent the first 14 years of his legal career focusing on representing clients in a variety of civil litigation matters. Through that work, he participated in hundreds of mediations as a counselor for one of the parties. Jeff shifted his practice to estate planning and probate partly due to his desire to help avoid conflict. Since the goal of mediation is conflict resolution, this certification was the logical next step in his career.
Jeff now has the ability to serve in the role of mediator. Jeff’s unique blend of knowledge and experience with civil litigation, estate planning, and probate makes him perfectly suited to mediate probate and business disputes. Jeff can also proficiently serve as a mediator in most any civil dispute, either before or during litigation.
As a Circuit Court Mediator, Jeff will focus on finding the root cause of the conflict, providing a trusted and neutral perspective, and working with the parties to reach an amicable resolution.
Jeff is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Charleston and a Volunteer Mediator for the Mediation and Meeting Center of Charleston.
