Amy Allen Hinson is a registered U.S. patent attorney and leads Parker Poe’s Intellectual Property Group. She serves as outside general IP counsel to clients across a broad range of industries, partnering with them to develop strategic, customized, and globally focused intellectual property portfolios that align with their business goals.
Amy advises clients on all aspects of patent, trademark, and copyright protection, including prosecution, enforcement, and litigation in the United States, as well as international portfolio development and management. She has significant experience before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), including post-grant patent proceedings, oppositions, and cancellations, as well as United States District Courts across the country.
Clients rely on Amy for guidance in complex technology transactions, including IP due diligence, valuations, and legal opinions. She frequently represents clients in intellectual property litigation, licensing negotiations, and high-value corporate deals where technology and IP assets play a central role. With deep experience in both U.S. and international patent prosecution, Amy also regularly counsels clients on global branding strategies, including trademark registration and enforcement.
Amy is especially known for her collaborative approach, aligning legal strategies with business priorities in fast-paced, innovation-driven industries.
Prior to joining Parker Poe, Amy was a partner at a large Southeastern law firm. She is a graduate of Leadership Greenville and remains actively involved in the Greenville, SC, community.
