Gary Capps practices in the areas of health care, business law, and tax-exempt organizations. He represents hospitals and other clients both within and outside the health care industry in a broad range of transactional, operational, governance, regulatory, and licensing matters. He regularly drafts and negotiates a variety of contractual arrangements and advises clients on transactions. Gary also has significant experience assisting tax-exempt organizations in obtaining tax-exempt status and advising tax-exempt organizations on operational compliance issues.
Prior to joining Parker Poe, Gary served as in-house counsel for South Carolina’s largest private, nonprofit health care system.
After graduating from law school, Gary was a law clerk for the Honorable J. Michael Baxley, Circuit Judge of the South Carolina Fourth Judicial Circuit.
