Jeremy Locklear represents employers in a broad range of employment-related disputes and litigation, including preventative advice and counseling, pre-litigation claims, and claims brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. Jeremy also helps employers navigate complex federal and state laws and regulations through providing advice on day-to-day employment issues such as hiring and terminations, discipline and corrective action, and accommodation requests. He has experience at the trial and appellate levels of state and federal courts, along with representative experience in both state and federal administrative agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the North Carolina Department of Labor.

Prior to joining Parker Poe, Jeremy practiced employment law for over two years with a national boutique management-sided labor and employment firm. He has represented clients in all stages of the litigation process, from initial evaluation through litigation, mediation, and appeal, and also regularly advised clients on associated employment-related needs. Jeremy has experience defending employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation claims before the North Carolina Industrial Commission. In addition, he has represented clients in general civil defense litigation and insurance coverage matters throughout the Southeast.

Jeremy received his law degree from the North Carolina Central University School of Law, where he served as the articles editor for the North Carolina Central Law Review and as a research assistant. During law school, he served as a judicial intern for the Honorable James A. Wynn Jr. on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He was a psychology major at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Jeremy also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Cheri L. Beasley of the Supreme Court of North Carolina after graduating from law school. When he’s not in the office, Jeremy can usually be found at a local gym, outdoors enjoying nature, or attending sporting events.
