Simpson Fant has represented owners and developers in the development, financing, and refinancing of more than 300 multifamily housing, assisted-living, and nursing home projects throughout the Southeast with approximately $3 billion in HUD/FHA insured loans, including Section 207, 231, 232, 221(d)(3&4), and 223(f) loans. He also represents owners in all aspects of the development, construction and financing of projects utilizing Section 42 low-income housing tax credits.
Additionally, Simpson advises clients locating to South Carolina on real estate matters relating to economic development projects, such as acquiring or leasing production sites, structuring complex leaseback arrangements with developers, negotiating construction, architectural, and engineering contracts, and project financing matters.
While at the University of South Carolina, Simpson was the student works editor of the South Carolina Law Review. Prior to attending law school, he was a municipal bond and government securities trader and a commercial loan officer with a leading South Carolina bank.
