Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP hosted author Mary Cantando at a reception and book signing for her latest work, Leading with Care – How Women Around the World are Inspiring Businesses, Empowering Communities, and Creating Opportunity.

More than 50 business and legal professionals attended the event at the law firm’s Charlotte office, the first of three such receptions and signings.  Attendees listened to the author tell stories of courageous and enterprising women featured in her book and changing the quality of lives in their communities from our state’s capitol city to third world villages, including the contributions of Catharine Arrowood, a litigation partner with Parker Poe.

Additional book signings will be on November 4 at Columbia College in Columbia, SC, and in the law firm’s Raleigh office on November 10. All reception attendees will receive an autographed copy of Mary’s book.

Working in cooperation with the international relief organization, CARE, Cantando tells the stories of women in the developing world who have overcome insurmountable challenges and parallels them to trailblazing business women across the United States.

Ms. Arrowood was featured as one of the trailblazing American women because of her creativity, tenacity and success. “This should prove to be an inspiring evening and a wonderful chance to honor both Catharine Arrowood and Mary Cantando,” said Kristi Walters, Director of Professional Development and Diversity at Parker Poe.
