Parker Poe partner Charles C. Meeker was re-elected to his fifth consecutive term as the Mayor of Raleigh. The win ties Mayor Meeker with Avery C. Upchurch as the mayor with the longest consecutive run in office in Raleigh history.

“Those of us in Raleigh are especially pleased with this result,” said Henry Campen, Raleigh office managing partner. “Charles has been a transformational Mayor for Raleigh. We need his continued leadership in the difficult times we now face. I know the entire firm shares our pride in this achievement by Charles.”

Mayor Meeker was first sworn in as the City of Raleigh's Mayor on December 3, 2001. He previously served as a member of the Raleigh City Council for eight years from 1985-1989 and 1991-1995. He received his JD, 1975 from Columbia University and his BA, 1972 from Yale University.
