Ray Jones
Ray has provided counsel on billions of dollars’ worth of bond transactions and economic development transactions in South Carolina and across the Southeast. He works with a talented team that represents a broad spectrum of clients in public finance, local taxation, financing of affordable housing, and economic development. His team’s clients include counties, cities, school districts, investment banks, financial institutions, public housing authorities, developers, and manufacturers.
Ray has played a leading role in growing Parker Poe’s Columbia office and its consulting practice over the past three decades. In addition, his partners elected him to serve on Parker Poe's firmwide board of directors from 2014 to 2017. He is a current member of the firm’s Policy & Planning Committee and serves as the firm’s Columbia Office Development Partner.
Ray is also deeply focused on serving the Columbia community. He has served as board chair of the Saluda Shoals Foundation and the March of Dimes South Carolina Chapter. He has also served on the board of directors for the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association. He served as board chair for the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina and currently serves on the board of directors for First Community Bank.
David Summer
David has devoted his career to helping healthcare clients solve problems and seize opportunities. He is proud of the relationships he has built with hospital executives and other providers in South Carolina and across the country. Developing relationships of trust with clients is one of the most important aspects of what a true counselor does, and David enjoys building those relationships.
David knows firsthand about the challenges that hospitals and their boards face in operating their facilities in a complex regulatory environment. His experience as a past business owner and hospital board member, combined with his extensive legal career, enables him to serve as a trusted advisor and help clients navigate day-to-day compliance. His business acumen has also been recognized by his partners, as he has served on Parker Poe's board of directors for over a decade.
David is a past president of the Rotary Club of Five Points, a past member of the board of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, and participates in Parker Poe's community service efforts.
