Kennedy Byrd focuses her practice on corporate law. She is part of a team of attorneys providing transactional advice and corporate counseling to companies in a variety of industries and at every stage of their development.
As a judicial intern for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Kennedy conducted research, drafted orders and memoranda, and reported recommendations on legal issues. She was a student intern and fellow with the University of Miami Innocence Clinic, where she investigated innocence claims and drafted motions for post-conviction representation. She was also a legal intern for the Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA), where she researched legal issues related to the WNBA's collective bargaining agreement and assisted with brand partnerships.
Kennedy earned her law degree and master's degree in entertainment, arts, and sports law from the University of Miami, where she was vice president of the Black Law Students Association and editor-in-chief of the Race and Social Justice Law Review. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a varsity cheerleader, involved with the UNC Student Government Executive Branch, and chapter president and a leadership fellow for her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
