Mallory Sparks advises clients on environmental litigation and compliance. She has represented large companies in the manufacturing and distribution and wood products industries, including specialty chemical manufacturers and pulp and paper mills, as well as real estate developers and renewable energy companies. She has experience in federal and state courts, including with multidistrict litigation (MDL) involving per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). She has also helped clients navigate odor complaints, wastewater compliance, Title V permits under the Clean Air Act, government and vendor audits, and land use and zoning improvements.

Prior to joining Parker Poe, Mallory worked in the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC, now the Department of Environmental Services or DES) Bureau of Air Quality. At DHEC, she reviewed and approved site source emission plans and reports, and she regularly engaged with industry members to achieve air compliance. Mallory has also been a private environmental consultant and an environmental engineer with INVISTA and International Paper. At both companies, she focused primarily on air compliance.

Mallory received her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she served as a senior articles editor for the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal. She was also a student attorney in USC’s Environmental Law Clinic. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Franklin College.
