Tasneem Dharamsi counsels clients on obtaining, protecting, licensing, and enforcing their intellectual property. Tasneem views intellectual property as a valuable asset intertwined with each client’s business. She works with clients to grow these assets, solve problems, and minimize risk.
Tasneem is a registered patent attorney with significant experience in enforcing patent rights before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in post-grant proceedings and in federal court in patent litigation matters across all industries and technologies including the mechanical, electrical, and pharmaceutical arts. She also assists clients in all aspects of preparing and pursuing patent applications, both in the United States and internationally. Tasneem’s experience provides her with a broad perspective on the commercial practicalities and value of patent strategies.
In addition, Tasneem regularly helps clients with trademark enforcement matters including litigation in federal courts and proceedings at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). She performs all aspects of trademark prosecution, and she advises clients in corporate transactions on trademark, copyright, and patent issues. Tasneem also assists clients with copyright and trade secret cases.
Before joining Parker Poe, Tasneem spent several years in practice at a global law firm based in Atlanta. While at the University of North Carolina School of Law, Tasneem was a Chancellors' Scholar and editor of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology. Before law school, she volunteered with the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia, helping indigent clients. She earned bachelor's degrees in biology and religious studies from the University of Virginia, where she was an Echols Scholar.
Outside of work, Tasneem enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with her family.
