Tess Meyer has advised a diverse set of health care clients over the past decade, assisting them with state and federal regulatory, transactional, and compliance issues. Today her clients include hospitals, provider groups, behavioral health organizations, insurers, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and private equity firms.
Tess regularly assists clients on mergers and acquisitions, including with due diligence and agreement negotiations. She also serves clients across a broad spectrum of state and federal health care issues, including licensure, scope of practice, corporate practice of medicine, change of ownership, fraud and abuse, HIPAA and HITECH, and Medicare and Medicaid enrollment.
Tess has experience as a health care attorney for one of the 20 largest law firms in the world and as a manager advising health care clients at a "Big Four" accounting firm. At PwC, Tess advised health care payers, providers, biotech and pharmaceutical companies, and large employers on regulatory compliance issues and policy objectives. She also evaluated the impact of state and federal health care legislation and policy and conducted complex regulatory and compliance assessments, including issues related to the Affordable Care Act.
She also has previous experience providing communications and advocacy support for high-profile health care clients, including an academic medical center and a large pharmaceutical company.
Tess earned her law degree from American University, where she served as notes and comments editor for the Administrative Law Review. She earned her bachelor's degree from University of Southern California.
