Tiffany Burba helps clients navigate the full spectrum of complex commercial relationships from cutting-edge technology transactions and intellectual property protection to general corporate needs, commercial contracts, and sports and entertainment deals. She prioritizes understanding her clients' business goals and brings a pragmatic, deal-focused approach to drafting and negotiating agreements that mitigate risk and drive results.
Tiffany is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), a credential recognized by the IAPP as the gold standard for privacy professionals.
Tiffany has particular depth at the intersection of intellectual property and technology, having drafted and negotiated thousands of contracts involving cloud software, data sharing, and cybersecurity consulting, areas among others. She has negotiated multimillion-dollar deals with some of the country's most prominent life sciences and software companies. She brings a unique perspective to both sides of a technology transaction where she represents large institutional clients in their day-to-day IT procurement as well as independent cloud services companies in their revenue-generating licensing deals.
On the privacy side, Tiffany counsels national companies on compliance with international, federal, and state data privacy regulations, and regularly drafts information security addenda, data protection agreements, and other privacy-related transaction documents.
Beyond her technology practice, Tiffany brings the same commercial sophistication to a broad range of her clients' general corporate and business needs. She regularly drafts and negotiates manufacturing agreements, consulting agreements, marketing and advertising contracts, distribution and reseller agreements, master service agreements, statements of work, non-disclosure agreements, and vendor contracts, among others. She also advises brands and businesses in the sports and entertainment space, including companies seeking to engage athletes, celebrities, and influencers for endorsements, sponsorships, and promotional campaigns.
Tiffany chairs the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. In that role, she coordinates pro bono initiatives across all eight of the firm’s offices for the firm’s approximately 300 attorneys. She maintains a robust pro bono practice and received the 2020 Younger Lawyer Pro Bono Award from the N.C. Bar Association.
