Charlotte, NC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce Adrianne Chillemi has joined the firm as counsel in Charlotte. Adrianne brings over 20 years of experience with high-stakes litigation and construction law.

Adrianne has guided her clients to successful, cost-effective resolution of high-stakes disputes at the trial and appellate levels, in mediation, and in arbitration. Her substantial litigation experience also informs her role as a strategic business advisor outside the context of formal dispute resolution proceedings. Adrianne understands the risks involved when construction projects (and business relations in general) go sideways. This understanding of risk makes her a valued asset to her architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC/EPC) industry clients as they draft and negotiate their contracts and as they navigate the waters of troubled construction projects.

Adrianne’s extensive knowledge of standard industry form contracts and her thorough familiarity with the construction phase — from subsurface evaluation, to notice to proceed, and through final completion — enable her clients to appropriately allocate risk in their contracts, to manage risk as construction proceeds, and to resolve disputes in manners that make sound business sense.

“I was drawn to Parker Poe’s strong reputation in the legal community, collaborative culture, and commitment to client service,” Adrianne said. “Like me, the firm has deep roots in the Carolinas and a focus on building long-term relationships with clients. I am excited to expand the firm’s construction services in the Charlotte region and into Virginia, as well as to broaden the scope of my complex commercial litigation practice in partnership with the firm’s attorneys and clients across a wider range of industries.”

“We are delighted to have Adrianne join our team,” said Jason Herndon, leader of Parker Poe’s Construction, Development & Condemnation Practice. “She brings two decades of experience and knowledge in the construction industry and the kind of practical approach to solving problems that is the hallmark of our practice here. She is also a skilled litigator who will add value to clients in a variety of industries.”

In addition, Adrianne has served in leadership roles in the Charlotte community, including as secretary of the board of directors of Envision Charlotte, a public-private collaborative focused on sustainability and economic competitiveness. The Mecklenburg Times has recognized her as one of the area’s 50 most influential women. She joins Parker Poe from Hamilton Stephens Steele + Martin.
